Dhow cruises in Dubai run on fixed schedules every evening, and the boarding time is not the sailing time. Arrive for boarding, not for departure: the boat will not wait for late guests. Here are the exact timings for every cruise we operate, plus practical advice on when to reach the pier.
Marina dinner cruise timings
Boarding starts at 7:45 PM at Marina Mall Pier 7, and the boat sails from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM, a full 2-hour cruise. Aim to reach the pier by 7:30 PM. The boarding window is when you get your welcome drink, choose your table, and, if you want the best photo spots, claim a rail position on the upper deck before the boat fills up.
Creek dinner cruise timings
Boarding starts at 7:30 PM at the Deira creekside jetty, and the boat sails from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The Creek cruise starts slightly earlier than the Marina sailing, which is worth knowing if you are planning dinner afterwards or a late evening elsewhere. Reach the jetty by 7:15 PM.
Sunset cruise timings
The sunset cruise is a shorter 1-hour sailing. Boarding starts at 5:00 PM and the boat cruises from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. This is the golden-hour sailing: you board in daylight, watch the sun drop behind the Marina towers or the Creek skyline, and return as the city lights come on. It pairs well with a late dinner booking afterwards on Marina Walk or in Deira.
Why you should arrive 30 minutes early
Three reasons. First, the boats run to a timetable set with the marina authorities, and a dhow that misses its sailing slot cannot simply leave late. Second, the best upper-deck seats and rail spots go to whoever boards first. Third, the welcome drink and a relaxed start beat sprinting down the pier. What if I am running late?
Call or WhatsApp us the moment you know. If the boat has not yet cast off, the crew can sometimes hold boarding for a few minutes, but once the dhow leaves the pier it cannot turn back for late guests. In that case we will move your booking to the next evening at no extra charge, subject to availability. This is why we recommend booking a taxi with a comfortable buffer, especially on Thursday and Friday evenings when Marina traffic is heavy.
Timings during Ramadan and holidays
During Ramadan, the dinner cruise schedule shifts: the iftar cruise boards earlier so that the buffet opens at sunset for breaking the fast. Exact Ramadan timings are confirmed closer to the month and announced on our website and WhatsApp. On New Year's Eve, a special extended sailing operates with premium pricing; regular timings do not apply that night. On other public holidays, normal timings apply unless we notify you otherwise at booking.
How the evening flows, minute by minute
For the Marina dinner cruise, expect roughly this: 7:45 PM boarding and welcome drink, 8:30 PM departure, buffet opens around 8:45 PM, Tanoura show around 9:30 PM, background music and open-deck time until 10:15 PM, and return to the pier by 10:30 PM. It is a relaxed pace, not a rushed one; you will have plenty of time to eat, watch the show, and take photos.
Sunset cruise or dinner cruise: picking your slot
The choice between the two evening slots comes down to your plans for the night. The sunset cruise (boarding 5:00 PM, sailing 5:30 to 6:30 PM) ends early enough for a full evening afterwards: dinner on Marina Walk, a mall visit, or an early night before a morning desert safari. It is also the better pick for families with young children and for photographers chasing golden-hour light. The dinner cruise (boarding 7:45 PM, sailing 8:30 to 10:30 PM) is the main event of the night: the full skyline lit up, dinner served on board, and the Tanoura show. If you only do one dhow cruise in Dubai, make it the dinner sailing; if you have room for two, the sunset cruise is the perfect companion.
