Where Do Dhow Cruises Board in Dubai?
Dubai's dhow cruises do not all leave from one harbour. Each route has its own boarding point, and turning up at the wrong pier is the most avoidable mistake a guest can make. This guide lists exactly where each of our cruises boards, how to find the spot, and how to get there by metro, taxi, or car.
Marina cruises: Marina Mall Pier 7
All Dubai Marina dhow cruises board at Pier 7, near Dubai Marina Mall, on the JBR side of the marina. When you book with us, we send you a WhatsApp location pin on the day of your cruise, so you can navigate straight to the right spot. The nearest metro station is DMCC (formerly JLT), about a 10-minute walk from the pier, or Sobha Realty station on the other side. Taxis can drop you at Dubai Marina Mall, from where it is a short, signposted walk to Pier 7. Paid parking is available at the Marina Mall car park if you are driving.
Creek cruises: Deira creekside jetty
Dubai Creek dinner cruises board from a jetty on the Deira side of the Creek, near the Baniyas Road waterfront. The nearest metro stations are Baniyas Square and Union, both a short taxi ride from the jetty. If you are staying in Deira or Bur Dubai, a taxi to the boarding point is quick and inexpensive. Street parking near the Creek can be tight in the evening, so a taxi or metro-plus-taxi is usually the easier option.
Canal cruises: Business Bay promenade
Dubai Water Canal cruises board from the Business Bay promenade, near the JW Marriott Marquis side of the canal. The Business Bay metro station on the Red Line is the closest rail link, followed by a short taxi ride to the waterfront. This boarding point suits guests staying in Business Bay, Downtown, or DIFC, and the canal route gives you the waterfall bridge and the illuminated skyline on both banks.
How to make sure you find the right pier
Three steps. First, check your booking confirmation message: it names the route and the boarding area. Second, open the WhatsApp location pin we send on the day; it drops you at the exact jetty, not just the neighbourhood. Third, if anything looks unfamiliar when you arrive, call or message us on +971 50 23 48 228 and we will talk you in. Getting there by metro
Dubai's metro is the most reliable way to beat evening traffic. For the Marina cruise, use the Red Line to DMCC station. For the Creek cruise, use the Green Line to Baniyas Square or the Red/Green interchange at Union. For the Canal cruise, use the Red Line to Business Bay. From each station, allow 10 to 15 minutes for the final taxi or walk to the water. Metro trains run until late, so you will have no trouble getting back after the cruise ends around 10:30 PM.
Parking and taxis
If you are driving to the Marina cruise, the Dubai Marina Mall car park is the simplest option, with the pier a short walk away. Near the Creek jetty, look for paid parking along Baniyas Road and arrive early, as spaces fill up. For the return journey, taxis queue near all three boarding areas after the cruise, and ride-hailing apps work normally. On Thursday and Friday evenings, pre-book your taxi home: demand spikes when several cruises disembark at once.
What to do if you cannot find the pier
It happens, usually because of a dropped pin or a taxi that stopped at the wrong entrance. Do not panic and do not wander: message or call us immediately on +971 50 23 48 228. This is also why we ask guests to aim for 30 minutes before boarding rather than cutting it fine: a ten-minute detour is harmless with a buffer and stressful without one.
